Meet the Team
McKenzie Moor, DNP, PMHNP
Clinic Owner and Director
Kenzie was born and raised in Williston, North Dakota, where she currently resides with her spouse and their son, along with their furry family members including two dogs and two cats.
She discovered a passion for providing care at a young age, after completing CNA training while in high school. She then began at Opportunity Foundation as a Direct Support Professional. After high school, she decided to pursue further education at Williston State, where she earned a certificate as a Mental Health and Addiction Technician and then transitioned into the nursing program to earn an Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
After graduating from WSC, Kenzie’s mental health nursing career began at the local human service center, where she provided direct mental health nursing care to individuals in the community for eight years, and eventually served as the director of nursing.
Kenzie continued her education through the University of North Dakota, where she achieved a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice and a Doctoral degree in Nursing Practice, with a focus on addiction medicine. Building on this foundation, she has spent four years providing advanced practice care at ConnectUs Therapy, where she serves as a psychiatric nurse practitioner and medical director.
When she’s not working, Kenzie loves hanging out with her family, friends, and pets. She’s always up for a new adventure, whether that means traveling to new places around the world or getting outdoors for things like hunting or fishing. In the summer, she enjoys camping, and when winter rolls around, you’ll probably find her hitting the slopes for some snowboarding. Kenzie’s also getting into woodworking. She likes making small projects for the house or office. And while she likes having plants around, she admits she’s still working on finding her green thumb!
Kenzie is passionate about mental health care and is committed to expanding services and addressing the mental health needs of those in the community and the surrounding areas. By launching this practice, she aims to expand mental health care options to better meet the needs of individuals in the area, ensuring they have access to quality care and helping to build a healthier, more resilient community.
Karen MoorKain
Canine Companion
Karen officially adopted her family in 2017 and gracefully assumed the role of “baby of the household” until her little brother, Kooper, arrived. Protective by nature and mischievous by choice, Karen has always embraced her duties as the big sister. Her résumé includes such notable accomplishments as successfully breaking puppies out of a kennel and proudly supervising while they redecorated the house with soil from every potted plant in the house.
In 2020, Karen completed her student training hours and graduated into her role as a Canine Companion, a position she continues to take very seriously. She works nearly every Friday, where she thrives in high-emotion environments. Karen is exceptionally skilled at reading the room; whether offering a listening ear, gently placing her bum in someone’s hand for comfort, or providing perfectly timed comic relief by loudly enjoying her lunch and then letting out an unapologetically squeaky toot.
Purpose-driven and intuitive, Karen finds genuine joy in helping people feel seen, supported, and safe. When she’s not on the clock, she dedicates her time to showing Kooper the ropes of the world he’s still discovering. She enjoys worm hunting after a good rain, fishing both on the boat and on the ice, and protecting her humans from life’s greatest threats—such as drifting leaves, rogue trash bags, and suspicious balloons. She is also a self-taught back-massage expert, often using her brother’s abandoned toys as improvised spa tools.
Karen is known for her generous spirit and big heart. She’s the kind of companion who will happily let other dogs or cats eat her food, finish the last of the water, or walk off with a toy she was actively playing with. With her blend of intuition, humor, and kindness, Karen brings comfort, laughter, and unwavering loyalty to everyone fortunate enough to meet her.
Kooper MoorKain
Canine Companion in Training
Kooper proudly adopted his family in the summer of 2025 and has been attached at the hip ever since, quite literally. His impressive size is only a preview of the even bigger heart he brings to work and home each day. Koop’s personal mission is simple: love his humans, make them laugh, and spread joy wherever his paws take him. He’s known for being a lovable goon with a talent for doing the silliest things, often sending his family into fits of laughter. And when Kooper learns something new, he’s so excited to show it off that he occasionally performs every trick he knows all at once.
Koop is currently in the student-learning stage of his career as a Companion Therapy Pup. He’s deciding whether this rewarding path is one he’d like to pursue as he grows up. So far, he shows remarkable promise, matching the energy of the patients he meets and finding his own unique ways to brighten their day. When he’s not assisting at the clinic, he’s sharpening his skills with his new family by providing mandatory mental health breaks, complete with hugs, snuggles, and perfectly timed interruptions.
Outside of work, Kooper spends his time with his sister and best friend, Karen. The two are inseparable and prefer to keep their adventures side-by-side. He also looks forward to his monthly BarkBox deliveries and delights in discovering which new toy he can proudly parade around, and somehow balance on top of the couch, before settling in for a chew session. Koop loves cuddling with his family, but he’s equally enthusiastic about the outdoors, especially when fresh snow turns the world into his personal wonderland.
With a huge heart, boundless curiosity, and a growing skill set, Kooper continues to bring joy, comfort, and plenty of laughs to everyone he meets. He’s well on his way to becoming the therapy pup he’s meant to be.
